Looking for an easy-to-use level design tool? This procedural grid Blender shader will make it easy to create whiteboxes and prototype base versions of your 3D levels with an auto-adjusted grid for measurements :)
This demo scene contains a ProceduralGrid material that will compute an adaptive dynamic grid in world cooordinates on your object, and therefore give you global measurements for your scene elements - plus, it's super easy to tweak, with just a few settings to customise the whole thing!
To use it:
- just add the ProceduralGrid material to your object (or use the default cube inside the demo scene)
- and extrude the faces of your mesh to shape your level
- that's it!
The grid will auto-adjust when you extrude your mesh.
⚙️ Tested in Blender 3.3 and 4.2.
⚠️ This asset is meant for whitebox/prototyping with straight/flat surfaces: the shader won't handle diagonal or round walls.
